Browsing Craigslist on company time, are we? Nice.
In the morning, as you are putting on your business clothing, your tie, your expensive shoes, do you ever stop to consider that your job and your life are nothing more than a meaningless pursuit of material gratification with no end and no hope of satiation?
How many times a day to you check your hair? How may Starbucks lattes do you drink in a week? How many beers do you have while trying to show off to the opposite sex?
Do you know who you are and what you really want? Or are your dreams based on a need to be like someone else, such as a wealthy or successful or powerful person you know or saw? Or a character in a movie or music video? Are you comfortable and confident or do you always feel the need to redefine and bolster your social status through consumption of non-essential material goods?
Do you enjoy the job you are escaping from by reading these words? Is this what you wanted to do with your life? Do you think this is what your parents had in mind for you when they first held you in their arms after you were born?
Do you believe you are free? That you actually make choices based on freewill each day? Do you believe in the reality of choices we are provided with? If given a chance, would you choose reality?
Do you believe what you see on TV? Or read in the news? Or hear from an acquaintance? And do you know how to verify truth?
Do you know the difference between creativity and output? Between value and profit? Between using and being used?
Can you tell if you are happy? Are you too afraid to say NO? Would you rather be somewhere else? Would you rather do something else with your short time here on this tiny planet?
